Emergency Services Team


 The Longmeadow Emergency Management Services organization was appointed by the Longmeadow Select Board and is led by Fire Chief John Dearborn. This team includes:

  • Lyn Simmons, Town Manager / Public Information Officer
  • John Dearborn, Fire Chief, Emergency Management Director
  • Gerald Macsata, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Emergency Management Director
  • Robert Stocks, Police Chief
  • Sean Van Deusen, DPW Director
  • Finn McCool, Health Director
  • Bari Jarvis, Parks and Recreation Director, Shelter Coordinator
  • James Leyden, Council on Aging Director, Shelter Coordinator

Team Responsibilities

The Longmeadow Emergency Management Team is charged with preparing for, responding to and recovering from natural and manmade disasters. This is accomplished through the implementation of a Comprehensive Community Emergency Management Plan. Our team conducts training and exercises on a regular basis to insure community readiness. Community Messaging and Emergency Information System:

Residents are strongly encouraged to register for the Town’s Emergency Notification System. This system is used for emergencies and community messaging to included;
