Special Town Election to fill vacant seat on the Select Board

On November 21, 2022, the Select Board received a petition signed by registered voters to call a Special Election to fill the vacant seat on the Select Board. In accepting this petition, the Select Board adopted the following Election calendar.

Nomination papers available


December 20, 2022

Last day to submit nomination papers to Registrars - 5:00 PM deadline

Nomination papers must be made available for at least 14 days (MGL Ch. 53 section 7)

January 3, 2023

Deadline for the Registrars to file nomination papers with the Town Clerk

2 weeks after papers filed and 35 days before election (MGL Ch. 53 section 10)

January 5, 2023

Last day to object or withdraw nomination papers


January 28, 2023

Last day to register to vote for Special Preliminary Town Election 5:00 PM deadline 

10 days before election

January 31, 2023

Last day to post the Preliminary Special Town Election Warrant 

1 week before election

January 31, 2023

5:00 PM, Last day and hour to apply to vote by mail (Absentee or Early)

Campaign Finance Reports

All campaign finance reports required to be filed with the city or town shall be made available for viewing on the municipal website within 30 days after the filing deadline if the report discloses that a candidate or committee has received contributions or made expenditures in excess of $1,000 during a reporting period or incurred liabilities or acquired or disposed of assets in excess of $1,000 during a reporting period.
