Absentee ballot applications are available in the Town Clerk’s Office for the following:
Registered voter who will be unable to vote at the polls on election day due to:
Absence from your city or town during normal polling hours;
Physical disability preventing you from going to the polling place;
Religious belief.
Non-registered voter who is a Massachusetts citizen absent from the state.
Active member of the armed forces or merchant marines, their spouse or dependent.
Person confined in a correctional facility or a jail, except if by reason of felony conviction.
How do I obtain an Absentee Ballot?
In order to vote absentee, an application must be filed annually. Absentee ballots may be voted in person over the counter during regular business hours, otherwise the ballot must be mailed. Taking the ballot out of the office is prohibited. The ballot must be mailed back to the Town Clerk or hand delivered to the Town Clerk’s Office. Ballots can not be accepted at the polls during the election.
