Longmeadow Softball Association

The Longmeadow Softball Association (LSA) is a member of Little League District 2, and offers the opportunity for girls in Grades 1 through 8 to participate in a program designed to teach the game of softball in a fun environment and eventually progress to an increasingly structured and competitive setting.

Grades 1 & 2

For children in Grades 1 and 2, the program focuses on basic skill development and incorporates 1 game per week with surrounding towns for 6-8 weeks.

Grades 3 - 8

Beyond Grade 2, all girls who wish to play must attend evaluations in March; all girls are placed on a team based on their skill level and age eligibility for 10U, 12U or 14U travel teams. Games are scheduled 1-2 times per week in Longmeadow and local communities for a total of 12-15 games per season. Team practices start at the end of April with regular season play and ends with playoffs for those teams that are eligible at the end of June.  We aim for team sizes of 12-13 players. Games are structured with umpires and forfeit rules, so player attendance is critical.  Once rosters are submitted to the league in mid-April, additional players cannot be added, no exceptions.

In an effort to give Longmeadow players the greatest opportunity to play and excel year-round, LSA has partnered with Enfield Girls Softball Association (EGSA) to offer Fall Ball, year-round and summer Tournament teams and Winter Clinics.
