November through December:  

Saturdays only: 8am -3pm 

Saturday December 23th through March:  

Saturdays only: 9am -12pm 

April through November 1st:

Sat: 8am - 5pm

Sun: 10am - 5pm

Wed: 10am - 5pm

 Payment for disposing of bulky household items will only be accepted at the Recycling Center via check.  To use the facility you must have a valid dump/transfer station sticker.  Yard waste will continue to be accepted at the Recycling Center as well.


The Town operates a Recycling and Yard Waste Center on Pondside Road adjacent to the old Department of Public Works yard (31 Pondside), which is for Longmeadow residents only, to:  
  • Drop off recyclable material that cannot be collected at curbside
  • Bring bulky trash items such as furniture and appliances for disposal
  • Dispose of yard waste, brush and grass clippings  
  • See Swap Shop Yes and No List under "Recycling Center Hours" above!
Note: An annual sticker is required to use the center.

Stickers can be purchased by mailing in the Recycling Center sticker application listed under related documents, or online here

Regular hours of operation are:
Saturdays 8am - 5pm
Sundays 10am - 5pm
Wednesdays 10am - 5pm


2023 Recycle Center Stickers may be purchased at the DPW (170 Dwight Rd)

STICKER SALE HOURS:

Mon: CLOSED

Tues: 9am - 3pm

Wed: 9am - 3pm

Thurs: 9am - 3pm

Fri: 9am - 3pm

Only Check or Card accepted. Credit adds a $2.50 convenience fee, and Debit is a $3.95 fee. No cash will be accepted.

Swap Shop Yes and No List - Effective June 2021

Yes:

  • Bicycles
  • Books, records, CDs
  • Frames and framed mirrors
  • Garden or farm equipment
  • Good used toys (complete and together)
  • Hand and power tools
  • Lamps and shades (working and in good condition)
  • Medical equipment (crutches and walkers)
  • Office equipment and chairs ( No rips)
  • Shelves
  • Small furniture
  • Sporting equipment 
  • Usable kitchenware, utensils, dishes

No:

  • No area rugs, mats or carpets
  • No artificial Christmas trees
  • No car seats
  • No excessively worn or used kitchenware
  • No helmets
  • No open board games or puzzles
  • No paint or solvents
  • No partial games or toys
  • No textiles (clothing, bedding, comforters, etc.) –place in Salvation Army Box at Recycling Center
  • Nothing made of particle board
