Why are you digging up a street you just paved?
Before the Town paves a street, all utilities are notified and given the opportunity to do any work requiring excavation before the street is paved. After the Town paves a street, no one is allowed to excavate in it for 5 years, except for emergencies. Obviously, if a utility detects a gas or a water leak, we want those leaks repaired immediately. In addition, if a business needs additional water lines to expand or a homeowner needs to repair or replace a sewer, they would receive a permit.
